This is a classic track from Funkadelic, which is pretty much the same band as Parliament, but with a different name for legal reasons (I think). This video was shot in Central Park and Times Square in 1973 (check out the billboard adverts!). Looking at it now, it’s obvious that these cats were very into drugs, but I remember being in New York City as a child and seeing mother fuckers walking around like that regularly and not thinking it unusual in the least. Maybe on a more imaginative day, I might have thought they were going to a gang meeting like in The Warriors, or to yell at white devils on the subway, but they usually just wound up spinning on their heads.
